Dr. Paul Azer, M.D.

Dr. Paul Azer graduated from Cornell University with distinction in all subjects. He then represented Cornell at the University of Heidelberg as the Jacob Gould Schurman Scholar for one year.  He completed Medical School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He served a one year internship in Internal Medicine at UCLA/Cedars Sinai Medical.  He then completed a two year Residency in Internal medicine at the University of Rochester Affiliated Hospitals program and returned to UCLA for a two year fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism.  He taught endocrinology at UCLA on the clinical faculty for over 30 years and was clinical chief of the division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Cedars Sinai Medical Center for two terms.  He was certified by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists after completion of Thyroid Ultrasound (1991) and Advanced Thyroid Ultrasound courses (1996).  He has been in the forefront of new techniques and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid nodules including ultrasound guidance, percutaneous ethanol instillation and genetic testing.
